Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia is the over-development of one or both breasts in a man. When broken up “gyne” means women and “mastos” means breasts. Gynecomastia is common among younger boys during puberty, this however subsides in time. Gynecomastia is also a symptom of many serious underlying conditions, so it is important to be tested for various diseases and disorders when the breasts become enlarged. Some of the causes for Gynecomastia in men are:
- Puberty
- Tumors
- Liver disease
- Certain medication
- Obesity
- Aging Process
- Cancers
